Lucky Kelson
Owner/Producer/Engineer/Musician
A native of Pensacola, Florida, Lucky is a multi-talented musician and grammy- nominated mastering engineer who started performing professionally in the early 1960's @ 11 years old playing the drums. In the early 70's he began playing piano when he joined with his late brother Robert, who was also an accomplished drummer and pianist. Together they formed the "Kelson Brothers' Band." and begin playing the local venues and then did extensive touring across the south. Lucky plays guitar and bass too, but is best known for his superior drum work and artistic expression with the Grand piano and Hammond B-3 Organ. Over the years his love of music attracted him to the production side of the business and he opened LuckyK in 1997 where his skills and experience have enabled him to successfully bring out the best in his clients. As a musician, engineer, producer and songwriter, he is always up to the challenge to help his artist record a superior product. His ability to coach vocalist to sing and perform is another one of his many talents. Lucky is also a Certified Federal Aviation Pilot since 1994.
Since 1997, Lucky has had the privilege of assisting clients on countless sessions. His abilities range from producing, engineering, arranging, co-writing and co-playing instruments (drums, bass, guitar, piano/keyboard, Hammond B-3 organ and even backing vocals). Whatever needs arise, Lucky is the master at finding solutions.
LuckyK Studio continues to attract the attention of local, national and international artists who recognize his skill and magic associated with recording music at LuckyK studio. It's not uncommon to have producers, musicians and artists travel from all over to work on their projects at LuckyK Recording Studio. Lucky has worked on sessions and also produced two time Grammy winning producer, "Larry Butler" & worked in Nashville with Grammy winning engineer, "Billy Sherrill", and "A" team session musicians in Nashville, TN.
